The sons and daughters of Stephan Franko, whom immigrated from Yugoslavia and settled in Tacoma, Washington gathered at George and Carol Franko's home in Tacoma, Wash. This is the first gathering of this magnitude in perhaps 20 years.

Family was welcomed from numerous Western states and other parts of the USA.

The date was July 22, 2000 and this is our story, and I'm sticking to it...

Photo of Stephan in the Austrian-Hungarian Army about 1904
Stephan Franko as a soldier in the Austrian-Hungarian Army dated 1904.

Stephan had five children, Steve, Mary, Al, George, and Roy (I doubt I have listed them in order of birth).

Al Sr. or "the Godfather" as he was known on this day is the only surviving child of Stephan.

Grandma Marguerite Franko (Al's wife)at her home in Bellevue on Thursday before the reunion. She was not able to make the trip to Tacoma. We all missed her.

From here on out the day became a blur...
